Located in the north of the Algarve, Praia de Odeceixe sits where the Ribeira de Seixe meets the Atlantic Ocean. This means you can choose between swimming in the river or in the sea.
Before going down to the beach, stop at the viewpoint above. From there, you can see the river curving around the large sandy area before reaching the Atlantic.
I recommend spending some time at the beach and then stopping in the village of Odeceixe for a walk or something to eat.
During summer, arrive early. It is a popular beach, and access and parking can become more difficult later in the day.
For me, this is one of the places that best shows how varied the Algarve coast can be.
