Piódão: A Hidden Village in Portugal

Piódão: A Hidden Village in Portugal

In the middle of Serra do Açor, far from the big cities, you’ll find Piódãm, one of the most beautiful villages in Portugal.

Piódão is a quiet place with stone houses and small streets. It’s very unique and different from most places. In the centre, the bright white church stands out between the dark stone houses.

Nature and  Walks
Fraga da Pena: A 30-meter waterfall surrounded by nature.
Mata da Margaraça: One of Portugal’s oldest forests, good for walking and relaxing.

Where to Eat
O Fontinha: Homemade food like chanfana (slow-cooked goat).
Casa da Ti’Augusta: Local dishes, sausages, and cheese.

Also Worth a Visit
Foz d’Égua: Small bridges and natural pools just a few minutes away.
Loriga: A mountain village known for its beautiful views.
Poço da Broca: A waterfall with a natural swimming spot, great in summer.
