In the historic Mouraria neighbourhood, you'll find O Velho Eurico, a restaurant known for its Portuguese food and lively atmosphere.
For decades, it was a traditional neighbourhood restaurant. In 2019, chef Zé Paulo Rocha and his team took over, bringing new ideas to classic Portuguese recipes.
The menu changes regularly, with dishes such as bacalhau à Brás (cod with potatoes and eggs), duck rice and lamb croquettes.
The atmosphere is also part of the experience. Portuguese music, a lively dining room and a relaxed setting make it a great place to enjoy a meal with friends.
The restaurant was renovated in 2025 but has kept much of its original character.
Book well in advance! O Velho Eurico is extremely popular, and the waiting list can sometimes stretch for weeks or even months.
