Foz d’Égua is a small village in the Serra do Açor, in Central Portugal.
It belongs to the parish of Piódão, in the municipality of Arganil, and is around 8 km by road from Piódão.
This is where the Piódão and Chãs d’Égua streams meet, surrounded by mountains, schist houses and old stone paths.
You will also find a beautiful river bathing area, a traditional stone bridge and old schist mills.
One of the highlights is the suspension bridge. A new bridge officially opened in July 2025, replacing the old structure that had been closed for safety reasons.
The new bridge is 58 metres long and reaches around 20 metres above the valley. The bathing area was also recently improved, with better access, comfort and safety.
It is a small place, but definitely worth a stop if you are exploring this part of Central Portugal.
